Hello everyone on this day which is New Years Eve! I just wanted to mark the end of the year with some of the best moments from 2014 it was definitely eventful with ups and downs and some mad memories!
At the start of this year I was still in Galway finishing up my course and making the most of my independent life away from home in that beautiful city before I headed back home to my house in Kerry. I’m still in touch with so many people from my time in Galway from the girls I lived with and my friends from my course. I’m making a goal for 2015 to go away for a short break with my main Galway Gal Aleksandra who blogs at Fayette Maruelle (https://fayettemaurelle.wordpress.com) who since day one almost I adore and love so much! Last time I saw her was at The Galway Races so Im going to plan a city break away at some point next year where we can do some mad shopping, eat great food and have fun! We have discussed plans to open a store in every city one day like our own version of DASH Boutiques so watch out for that one! I have also met some really great people from my days in Galway like my housemates who I still talk to and have a good laugh with (One of them is french so I am definitely going to visit her at some point!) We have some really good memories from the start of this year including battling stormy weather, nights out, dealing with our mad little house and its broken bits and pieces and even one night we made brownies and drank a bottle of wine! These three Galway girls have become a part of my life and they are here to stay!
But as my course was only a one year course the time came for me to move back home to Kerry and the leave all the wonderful people I had met and my beautiful view outside my house. I will never forget Galway because it was taught me so many things in so many ways and it helped me to grow up a lot. Before Galway I wasn’t actually a very confident person I was a bit timid and shy but my year in Galway helped me gain a bit of confidence and independence and learn how to take care of myself on my own. I learned some really good things not only from my Fashion Retail course in Galway Technical Institute but I also learnt some life lessons too. It was definitely a big difference leaving my lovely Galway to come back to Kerry and needing a drive everywhere instead of walking 5 minutes in to the city! I still miss the view and the people but its nice to be back home after a year away! Here is one of the photos I took while walking on the pier outside my house I like to call it Free As A Bird!
Since moving home there has been a lot going on. My aunt, uncle and little cousin came over during the summer so I spent a few days doing things with them including seeing Fungi The Dolphin in Dingle again after a good few years with them which was really nice because I love Dolphins! If you ever come to Kerry you should definitely do that because he is such an amazing creature and he has lived in Dingle Bay for over 20 years!
I also celebrated my grandparents sixtieth wedding anniversary with loads of family and friends and it was a really great evening. I can only hope that I find a man that will put up with me that long! We had a really nice dinner and celebrated all night and all had a really great time!
I got myself a job in the Newlook here in Killarney and I was so happy about this! I have loved Newlook since I was about 12 and even used to refer to it as my church! I have always loved their clothes and when I handed my CV into them I prayed to get an interview and I did thank god! After that I spent two weeks praying they would hire me so I didn’t have to go working in a hotel or restaurant again and one day just as my mother said “If you dont hear from them you’ll have to sign on or something” they called saying I got the job! Since then I have had such a good time getting to know all the girls there and learning the ropes. My favourite day so far was getting to dress the mannequins in the window with the assistant manager. It was at the end of summer and it was like 400 degrees behind the glass but still it was so much fun and I loved putting the outfits together. I have got to know the girls at work and some other people who work in the other stores in Deerpark really well over the last few months so much so that Costa now know my order off by heart! (I drink way too many brownie hot chocolates this time of year!)
Also Evanna Lily has taken off! Well its not the biggest blog going but I had some really nice emails and questions from all my readers including a few websites which asked me to do posts for them! Since the start of this year I have done about 6 or 7 posts for websites so as of next year I have decided I might have to start charging! It is really amazing how all of you who have followed my blog and and liked my different social media pages and taken an interest in what I am blogging about and stuck with me for the year. I am so grateful for all of you who have supported me over the year and I could not have done it without you. You are all the reason Evanna Lily is growing and gaining attention from websites so I thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. I know that there are times when there is silence for a few days but thats because I have found it a little difficult to balance blogging with work at the moment but I am learning!
I am so excited for 2015 to come and even though I didn’t get to do all the things I wanted to do this year I hope that I will get to do some of them next year. I have got to know some really great people in the last few months and one of them recently said to me “Everything Happens For A Reason” and I am starting to believe it. I really do think that this next year is going to bring something magical and I can’t wait to share every day with all of you!
Happy New Year everybody I hope you are all having a great day and see you next year!
